How to Disable Windows 10 Updates

For recently upgraded Windows 10 users, you would realize that unlike Windows 7, 8 and 8.1, you won't be able to turn off the automatic Windows updates.  Microsoft has chosen to make it automatic that your Windows 10 machine would download and install all updates.  The user has no choice, except for Windows 10 Pro users who can choose to defer the updates for up to 6 months.  Windows 10 Home users cannot defer the updates unless you use a work around to disable the entire Windows update service itself.  For a step by step tutorial in video format check out the video below.

How to turn off / disable Windows 10 Automatic Updates

To prevent Windows 10 from Automatically downloading and installing updates you must
access the "computer management" console and then select the "services" tab. Under the services tab you need to find the "Windows Update" service and disable it.  Once this service is disabled, windows will not be able to make a connection with Microsoft's update server and hence no updates can take place.  For step by step visual instructions, check out the video above.
